The message "Cannot
close remote file" comes from windows applications using ssh to communicate with
remote Unix (including Linux or FreeBSD) based fileservers. In our experience it is
a symptom of exceeding the disk quota, but others have said it can be associated
with permission violations.
We have seen the message from WinSCP and SecureFX.
